Props and Pistons Festival to Host Ohio’s First-Ever AOPA Fly-In Event in 2025

Writer: Michael DamronMichael Damron

Aviation enthusiasts, get ready for an unforgettable weekend! The Props and Pistons Festival is making history by hosting Ohio’s first-ever Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Fly-In. This exciting event is set for August 16-17, 2025, at Akron-Fulton Airport, where hundreds of aircraft—an estimated 400 to 500—will take to the skies for a spectacular display of aviation excellence.

This major milestone creates a unique opportunity for pilots, industry leaders, and aviation fans to come together. AOPA, the largest aviation association in the world, will bring top-notch seminars, a world-class trade show, and plenty of networking opportunities. Akron’s central location played a big role in securing this event, as a large number of AOPA members live within a 500-mile radius.

In addition to the impressive influx of aircraft, AOPA Fly-Ins are known for their immersive hands-on experiences, expert-led seminars, and a comprehensive trade show that connects attendees with the latest innovations in aviation. Pilots and aviation enthusiasts can engage in safety briefings, aircraft maintenance workshops, and pilot proficiency programs designed to enhance their skills and knowledge. The event will also feature interactive exhibits, aviation product showcases, and the chance to meet industry leaders who are shaping the future of flight.

“This is a tremendous milestone for both the Props and Pistons Festival and the city of Akron,” said Hans Krah, Chairman of the Props and Pistons Festival. “Hosting Ohio’s first AOPA Fly-In will not only bring aviation enthusiasts and industry leaders together but will also showcase our region as a premier destination for aviation events.”
